Lumatek Ultimate Pro automatically detects the connected lamp and supplies the grow lamp with power. A Lumatek 600W 400V HPS lamp is supplied with the ballast. The 400V lamps are superior to the 240V lamps that are traditionally used in hobby breeding and in the indoor garden area due to their higher efficiency and the higher output of the PAR spectrum. Photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) refers to the part of the light spectrum that plants actually use for photosynthesis and growth. With a microprocessor and software-controlled electronics, our Lumatek Ultimate 600W is an ultra-high frequency ballast that works at 120 kHz (120,000 cycles per second) for 400V and 90 kHz for 240V lamps.
A conventional magnetic ballast works with 50 Hz and provides the system with much less light. You can tell the difference in light quality even with your phone's video camera. Try filming a light powered by a magnetic ballast (flash flicker) and then the Lumatek (solid light). The difference makes it clear that less power is lost from powering the lamp.
The high frequency output results in less power loss at the cathodes as well as better overall performance and energy efficiency. The Lumatek Ultimate 600 is a remote controlled electronic ballast that plugs into the standard 240V mains supply and powers 600W-400V HPS and 400W / 600W-240V MH / HPS grow lights. This ballast has an IEC connector on the lamp cable and can be connected to any normal reflector. The intelligent digital ballast can be easily integrated into your existing grow room. Simply replace the ballast with our Lumatek Ultimate 600 and it will automatically detect which type of lamp you are using and provide the exact voltage required for an optimal output of the PAR spectrum.
